Stellar Media Marketing

February 1, 2013 By Kim Leave a Comment

I have had the good fortune to work with Social Media Specialist & Consultant, Kelly Mirabella of Stellar Media Marketing. We have worked together as venture partners as well as serving on the DTC CBW board.  It has been such a joy to get to work with someone with such professionalism, knowledge and experience.  And it’s not so bad that she is fun and funny too 🙂

But the real value in getting to work with Kelly is her strait forward, get to the point of what’s effective with social media.  She is a entrepreneur’s dream in the content, classes, and services she delivers.  She helps small business owners get their social media strategy set and implemented.   Kelly does it all…she trains, consults, and even will do the “dirty work” of implementing your social media strategy that delivers results to your bottom line.

You can learn more about Kelly Mirabella and Stellar Media Marketing at http://www.stellarmediamarketing.com.

imaginibbles

December 30, 2012 By Kim Leave a Comment

Have you ever thought of yourself as having a good imagination? What about as innovative? For me, I can honestly say I have never thought of myself in that light…until I met Tamara Kleinberg. I had the good fortune to have coffee with Tamara and as warm and funny as she is, she is also in constant curiosity about what’s possible. Our conversation lead me to the conclusion that I really do have a good imagination and have been innovative many times in my life. Thank you Tamara!!

Tamara G. Kleinberg is the founder and chief imaginator of imaginibbles, an organization dedicated to helping people and organizations think sideways and ignite disruptive ideas. As author of Think Sideways: a game-changing playbook for disruptive thinking, Tamara travels the globe speaking for leaders and organizations looking to ignite innovation, provoke new ideas and harness the power of the entrepreneurial spirit. She is also the creator and host of the internationally watched web show imagi-NATION®: disruptive innovators road tour.

For the past 18 years, Tamara has advised companies such as Procter and Gamble, General Mills, Clorox, WhiteWave Foods and IBM on fostering innovative ideas and people.

And if the above hasn’t sparked your interest enough, what about participating in an “Idea Jam”?  It’s an “action packed collaborative program where you bring the burning questions and we’ll collide it with other entrepreneurial minds, invention ideation techniques, and a wealth of experience and expertise” that you won’t want to miss.

Joanne Johnson, Virtual Assistant

November 25, 2012 By Kim Leave a Comment

If you have ever been overwhelmed with more to do than you can handle, I and many business owners can definitely relate!

With my clients, I stress the importance of working in your calling/genius as much as possible and delegate out the things that are outside of it.  You see, as solo-preneurs, we are required to wear many hats regardless of if they are within our skill set or not.  We are called to do the sales and marketing, the strategic planning, the financials, the product/service development and the list goes on, not to mention to work in our genius/calling.  It can be quite exhausting to be working outside of your skill set but even more exhausting to be working outside your natural tendencies.

When I coach others to delegate it is more than becoming more efficient or effective, it is about creating the business and life you desire so you can experience complete fulfillment.

In August 2012, I had the fortunate opportunity to meet a wonderful virtual assistant who happened to get rave reviews from other coaches so I hired her immediately. Her name is Joanne Johnson and she is now my assistant 🙂  And my business has grown and I have been more efficient and experienced more joy because I am working in my calling most of the time.

Joanne supports me with my newsletter, managing my contacts, promotion of programs, client care, and the long term planning of my business.  Each month I am delegating more tasks to Joanne and she is taking them on like a champ!  Her professionalism, timeliness and attention to detail has been remarkable.  Joanne has TRULY brought me to be able to experience more fulfillment in my business and life.

I value Joanne’s work so much, I refer her to my friends and colleagues- including my own mentor coach!

If your business is moving forward fast and you want to experience more fulfillment, it may be time to hire Joanne 🙂

A Gift From The Heart

October 28, 2012 By Kim Leave a Comment

Well, the holidays are among us.  I say this because I was at Kohl’s the other day and they already had Christmas decorations adorning the store displays and had sales on all kinds of Thanksgiving and Christmas items.  Tis the season to be giving 🙂

If you’re thinking of gifts for  loyal clients and strategic partners, my friend and business colleague, Sloan Waters,  has a wonderful custom gift basket business that is unlike any other you have seen.  Sloan hand picks all items for the gift and uses her creative and artistic abilities to have extraordinary “baskets” that are beautiful, functional, and memorable.

If you’re looking to truly thank your clients and partners in a way that speaks to the individual relationship you have, you absolutely must talk with Sloan.

Check out samples of Sloan’s craftsmanship at http://www.agiftfromtheheart.info.

Trish Downing – Author & Motivational Speaker

September 30, 2012 By Kim 2 Comments

Last year author and motivational speaker, Tricia Downing, spoke at the DTC CBW luncheon and was truly awe inspiring.  I had met “Trish” briefly a few weeks before at a book signing party and was impressed by her story but more so by her presence…actually by her essence!

Her story is that “In one instant, on September 17, 2000, Tricia went from being a competitive cyclist to a paraplegic requiring a wheelchair for mobility. Her life was changed forever, but Tricia’s competitive spirit and zest for life continued on” but doesn’t even begin to describe the absolutely wonderful woman that I have come to call my friend.

Trish is a competitor to her very core and uses the fuel of her fire to inspire and motivate abled-bodies and challenged-bodies in ways one could only imagine.

This year Tricia invited me to speak about goal setting at Camp Discovery, a retreat she created for women in wheel chairs “who have disorders of the spinal cord redefine themselves to live strong, productive and happy lives by, building self-esteem, creating a personal network and support system, inspiring a positive body image, and encouraging physical fitness.”

As you can tell, this Camp was created by one POWERFUL and AMAZING woman for powerful and amazing women.  I was honored by the invitation and was truly inspired and transformed by the women that attended.  These women shared with me their goals for Camp as well as their personal stories.  We laughed and enjoyed each other’s company and dug deep to find those things that hold us back – fear, lack of confidence, in accurate self perception and the list goes on.  Some women had been in chairs for years and some months.  One woman was in her 70’s and doing the zip line again!  I know…Inspiring right?!!!

I am working on putting into words my experience at Camp Discovery and will share with you all when I do.  But until then, check out Tricia Downing at her website and better yet, hire her to speak at your company or organization.  I assure you that the individuals that you work with, know and love will be inspired, motivated and transformed in ways you can’t begin to imagine.

Learn more about Tricia Downing at www.trishdowning.com and Camp Discovery here.
