When Does Being an “Organizer” Serve you?

February 10, 2013 By Kim 2 Comments

In the last blog I discussed the “C” – Commander in the CORE Multidimensional Awareness Profile® (click here to see the  previous blog).   This week we are focusing on the “O”- Organizer.  Remember from last time, we all have each of the traits C-O-R-E present in each of us.

Organizers are analytical thinking, detail oriented people who strive for accuracy and are great at problem solving.  They like order and logic and prefer clearly defined parameters.  For some, being an organizer comes naturally and some may have to work at it.

So if you don’t feel like a natural born Organizer here are a few coaching questions…

  1. When does your Organizer kick in?
  2. What are the circumstances or situations that your Organizer is most present?

You may be thinking “Kim, I am NEVER an organizer” but I challenge you to think of the times that you had to be an organizer.  Times that you wanted to focus on the details or even just felt your problem solving skills kicking in.  Maybe it was balancing your checkbook or preparing for a very important event in your life, or even a time you just wanted things to be clearly defined so you could make a good decision.  You may not express your Organizer on a daily or regular basis but I can assure you, your Organizer has indeed kicked in at some point in your life.

Your assignment is the same as last week, take a personal inventory of when, in the past 2 weeks, has your Organizer has stepped in to require details, facts, order and logic.  And how energized did you feel when it happened.

If you found that being an Organizer feels draining, look back at your energy level when you are being a Commander.  If being either an Organizer or Commander leaves you feeling drained, stay tuned for the next few weeks of blogs where I discuss the remaining two CORE ® types.  :)
